CPAP
is an acronym given for the term Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.
The CPAP machines are used to treat the obstructive sleep apnea.
Patients suffering from this disorder can get an effective relief in
most of the cases.
During
the sleep apnea, the patient literally stops to breathe several times
while sleeping. As a result, he or she never gets a good sleep in the
night. Sleep apnea can result in mild as well as severe heath
problems. Thus, if you want to get rid of this disorder, you must use
a device which helps you in breathing during the nights.
With
the help of CPAP therapy, you can keep the airway open during the
whole night. A CPAP machine delivers a constant stream of air which
helps in opening the throat passage. Thus, a person can breathe
normally in the night with the open airway.
The
air you received from the CPAP machine also acts as a drying agent.
Sometimes, it can dry out your sinus as well as nasal passages. This
can lead to irritation and other unpleasant side effects including
sneezing, congestion, swelling and even nasal bleeding. Thus, in
order to prevent this from occurring, you must humidify the air. Here
comes the role of CPAP humidifiers. Humidified air has good
amount of moisture which prevents to dry out your nasal and sinus
passage.
